In addition to her skills in general feline and canine medicine and surgery, Dr. Rickard, well known for her special interest and expertise in canine reproduction, is one of the few veterinarians in the U.S. trained to perform specialized procedures such as transcervical artificial insemination and canine semen freezing. Her vast clientele is drawn from across the entire United States including Alaska, and includes numerous clients from Europe and South America. With her husband John, she is the loving owner of two crazy cats and numerous tvierriers which she has shown to multiple championship titles herself. Business Managers
Mr. John Rickard
|
John Rickard is the Business Manager for the Practice (as well as providing computer support, web & graphics design, and the one who has to do all the heavy lifting). Little did he realize when first he first met Dr. Rickard (10 years ago...then just Valeria) that he would eventually marry her and become Business Manager for NOAH. Funny how things work out...
John was born and raised in nearby Thurmont, Maryland, by wonderful parents who instilled him with strong values, honor and common sense. John's dad Glenn owned his own business as well as possessed the skills required to build their house (along with HIS father). Just working along side him allowed John to develop his work ethic as well as learning all his life-practical handyman-type skills. Throughout high school and college, John "pushed the envelope" in both the Math and Computer Sciences departments (that time not being very extensive) and found his own way to leverage those areas towards a Bachelor's Degree from Mt St Mary's College.
At age 14, John attended his first martial arts class, thus beginning an introspective journey which continues today. For the next 23 years, he has studied with a non-profit, traditional Martial Arts school - In Ji Yong Martial Arts - in Frederick Maryland. He has earned the rank of 3rd degree black belt and today teaches both children and adults in the same traditional fashion that he learned.
In addition to the many "menial" jobs held throughout school, and his martial arts teaching, John has worked as a computer programmer and software designer in both the Public and Private sectors, landing as Senior Software Designer for UUNET -> WorldCom -> MCI -> Verizon).
At home in Haymarket, with his wife (Dr. Rickard) he tends the herd and tries to keep the house from being taken apart by the numerous dogs & cats they have as well.. so add kennel assistant and dog groomer to the list of jobs. In his "spare time" John enjoys traveling and scuba diving. |

Aleta & Gary Fox
| Aleta Fox is a Manager at NOAH, lending her talents to inventory management, Website Design and Software Configuration. She also has a wonderful eye for decorating and gardening. Along with her husband Gary, she is responsible for the outside plantings in both the front flower bed and alongside the street entrance and all of the seasonal decorations. (the doggie statue was her idea and everyone loves it!). |
Front Office Manager
Ms. Donna Henry
|
Donna Henry moved to Virginia a year ago, but still misses her beloved Texas. She has an extensive background in office management and accounting. While employed with the Port Neches Groves School District in Texas, she was in the class room teaching special needs children. Additionally, she did in-home training with autistic children of all ages, a love she would continue to pursue in her spare time if the opportunity presented.
Donna was a client at the then 3 month old Hospital, when she ‘volunteered’ to help out at the front desk and, happily, she’s been here ever since. We soon recognized her talents and rewarded her dedication by promoting her to Front Office Manager. Donna has become invaulable to the practice and we can't imagine the office without her. I'm sure your interactions with her will leave you with the same wonderful feeling. Donna and Marc live with their 2 Jack Russell Terriers, 1 Boston Terrier and 4 Brussels Griffons. They also have 2 very naughty Billy goats, 12 Araucana chickens and the best gaggle of Guinea hens ever!

Technicians
Miss Kelli Boswell
Kelli came to NOAH as our theriogenology technician in April of 2007. She has been working with animals since 2000 and has always known since she was a little girl that she wanted to work in the veterinary field. As a matter of fact, at a young age her family gave her the nickname “Elly May” (as in, Elly May Clampet from the Beverly Hillbillies) because of her love for animals. In addition to being a full-time member of our staff, she is currently a full-time student at San Juan College and is working towards getting licensed in Virginia as a veterinary technician.
She lives with her boyfriend, Matt, in Lovettsville along with their 4 dogs (Homer-beagle 19 years, Baxter-mix 2 years, Wrigley-Boston Terrier 3 years, Ernie-mix 2 years), and cat (Mr. Kitty- DSH 16 years). She is the youngest with an older brother and sister. Kelli is very close with her family and sees them often since they all live in the Loudoun County area. She has been very active in the Blue Ridge Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society since her father’s diagnosis with the disease in 2003. She will begin preparing for next year’s MS Challenge Walk (50 miles) in the coming months so feel free to pass along some words of encouragement.
When she’s not caring for your pets at NOAH or doing school work, you can find her spending time with her family and friends, throwing pottery on a pottery wheel, or out playing with her 4-legged and furry children. | | View |
Ms. Kelly Frye
Technician's Assistant(s) Receptionist(s)
Ms. Angela Norfleet
| Angela is one of the newest members of our staff. She hails from a place she likes to call “everywhere, USA.” Born and raised in a military family, she has lived pretty much everywhere from overseas in Turkey to the west coast of the United States. She resides in Purcellville, Virginia with her family and pets. She has a younger sister and an older sister. She attends Northern Virginia Community College and is working on getting her Criminal Justice degree in hope of someday becoming and accident re-constructionist or a crime scene investigator.
When she is not working she spends time at home taking care of her 6 pets; 2 dogs (Buddy and Amber, Beagles, age 4), 1 cat (Tiger, Tabby/Siamese, age 13) and 3 guinea pigs (Tinkerbell, Hollie, and Mocha). Along with her passion for dogs, she also has a passion for cars. When she is not working or at home, you can most likely find her under the hood of a car learning as much as she can about cars and how they work. She often spends her weekends going to car shows and helping with various projects that her friends are working on.
Angela hopes to make everyone’s visit to the clinic as pleasant as possible and hopes to meet all of our clients and their beloved pets in the near future.
